The Hillsboro Hawks Girls Track and Field team traveled to Jackson on Saturday April 10th, where despite the wind and rain, they came in fourth place by beating out nine other schools.
The Hawks were led by Maya Wright, once again, who earned 1st in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 16.09 seconds, 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles in 48.44 seconds and finished first in the high jump with a 1.55 meter-effort. Krista Miller earned 2nd place in Triple Jump with a distance of 10.14 meters and earned another 2nd place finish in the JV Pole Vault with 1.82 meters.
“This meet was unique in being a JV meet as well,” said Head Coach Dina Holland. Bella Uzzle took 1st place in the 200 meters, while Kylie Edwards took 2nd in the 100 meters. Destiny Thomas was 1st in triple jump and 2nd in high jump, and Cassidy Herget was 2nd in Triple and Javelin.
Coach Holland beamed, “I was really proud of these girls!”
