Mehlville Invitational is Spinning, Twirling, Leg-Shaking Success

The second annual Mehlville Invitational is a huge success as all 26 schools leave their mark on the competition.

Last Saturday, February 19th, Mehlville High School and Ameritime Sports teamed up in the second annual Mehlville Invitational dance competition. The event was a rousing success, as 26 schools squared off in countless categories to dance their hearts out for glory, hardware and bragging rights. As proud participants in the competition, Ameritime Sports covered the live-streaming and photography, but we’ll leave the recap to the expert.

The talented and dedicated woman in charge of the entire operation was Miranda Widmann. Including doing a fantastic job putting on the competition, she was also quite adept at recapping the event. Below are her collective remarks.

“I thought the competition was great! With it being our 2nd Invitational (and 1st time for many of us planning it), we were very pleased with the end result. We heard nothing but good things and helpful feedback from coaches and spectators to improve our future Invitationals. Although the competition ran behind schedule, we know how to remedy that for next year and look forward to growing this Invitational into a HUGE event! The judges gave quality feedback that any coach would be pleased to receive, the teams were extremely supportive of one another, the coaches and spectators were gracious in the scheduling delay and award mix-ups, and our Mehlville family worked tirelessly all day long to ensure the day ran as smoothly as possible. Hearing how excited the teams were at awards made all of the hard work worth it! Having the opportunity to dance and compete in person is something we no longer take for granted, as many of us had little to no season last year due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Many spectators enjoyed the use of the free livestream and the availability to order photographs after the event was over. We are incredibly thankful for Ameritime Sports and what they were able to provide before, during and after the event. We hope to use them for Invitationals to come, as they are hard-working and professional individuals who customized our needs to fit the event perfectly! The use of a livestream allowed families and team members who were not able to join in person feel like they were at the event. Rarely do dance competitions have the capability to have a livestream as strong as Ameritime’s!
One comment from a spectator that we received that will stick with me forever is hearing how kind and helpful everyone on our end was. Kindness goes a long way these days and I was thrilled that our Mehlville team represented just that.”
The competition was a glowing success on all fronts and Ameritime Sports was proud to be involved in such a burgeoning event. Below are the results of the competition and we hope to see you all next year!
