It’s a respectful and humble culture that leads to success on a variety of spectrums, but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to shy away from championing an individual who had a truly impressive performance within the week.
We’ve teamed up with the good people at Pettus Automotive to bring you a feature that will highlight one student athlete’s outstanding individual performance every week. Whether on the gridiron, golf course, diamond or hardwood, there is always someone doing something special. And we thought you’d all like to know about it.
This week the honor goes to Valle Catholic Warriors Quarterback, Grant Fallert, who had a sensational game in Valle’s absolute blowout over the Potosi Trojans in Week 4. The Warriors shut out the Trojans and put up a season-high 63 points, helped in large part by Fallert’s six total touchdowns.
The 63-0 victory improved Valle’s record to 3-1 on the young season, and marked their second consecutive shutout while scoring 58 or more points. Although it was certainly a team effort, a good chunk of that dominance can be attributed to Fallert. The Warrior signal caller threw for 155 yards through the air and struck for a trio of TDs. He was 10-of-11 passing in his near perfect outing.
He also paced the ground game with 105 yards and three more scores. He did all of this on just three carries, with each rush taken to the house for six points. Add it all up and he was good for 260 total yards and six touchdowns on just 14 plays.
Talk about making the most of your opportunities. Quite the individual effort.
The Warriors will look to Fallert again next week to keep the line moving against the St. Vincent Indians, as they try to move to 4-1 on the season.
Thanks to Pettus Automotive for making this possible, and congratulations to Grant Fallert on one heck of a week to start the season.
