The Valle Catholic Warriors Varsity Football team welcomes the St. Pius Lancers to town this Friday, October 22nd for their final regular-season game, and a chance to win the program’s 600th overall victory.
Last week, the Warriors tore apart Westminster Christian Academy. To nobody’s surprise, Bryce Giesler led the way for Valle’s rushing attack. He carried the ball 21 times and racked up 195 yards and three touchdowns. Grant Fallert carried the ball nine times for 38 yards and a touchdown and also passed for 79 yards and a TD. Aiden Heberlie caught five passes for 46 yards and a touchdown and also threw a 37-yard touchdown of his own to Isaac Roth on a trick play. Carson Tucker led the Warriors’ defense with nine tackles and a sack.
Pius comes into this game 7-1 and on a seven-game winning streak after dropping their week one matchup to Monroe City. Last week, they welcomed a winless Bayless team to their home field and beat them 34-14.
Valle has dominated this matchup in years past. They are 11-0 against the Lancers since 2010. Last year, the Warriors traveled to Pius and cruised to a 52-13 victory. Valle is going to want to keep that streak going and they definitely want to end their regular season with a bang.
This is an opportunity to complete yet another perfect regular season in the lavish Valle history books, and the cherry on top would be that it comes with the potential excitement of their 600th win.
The Warriors are going to come out firing and try and carry some momentum into their post-season matchups. Look out for the Lancers to try and take down the Warriors for the first time in over ten years on Friday, October 22nd at 7 pm.
Good luck Warriors!
