The Ste. Genevieve Dragons Varsity Football team looks to pull their record over .500 on Friday, September 24th when they run up against the Fredericktown Blackcats.
Last week, the Dragons took on the Potosi Trojans and had an offensive field day. They scored 21 straight points before Potosi got on the board. Aiden Boyer kept his connection with Zach Boyer going into this week. Aiden tossed five touchdown passes and four of those were to Zach. He also threw for 327 yards. Zach caught seven passes for 180 yards. Kaden Flye caught seven passes for 87 yards and a touchdown. Austin McBride had a great week as well with 21 carries for 157 yards and a touchdown. Thomas O’Brien led the way for the Dragon defense with five tackles and a sack.
Fredericktown has had a rough go so far this year. They have been held without a win so far through four weeks. They are coming fresh off a 21-14 loss to Perryville and will be in search of their first win when they run up against the Dragons.
Ste. Genevieve has dominated the matchup with Fredericktown over the years. They have not lost to the Blackcats since 2010 and have won their last 12 meetings. They have not met up since 2019. The Dragons beat them twice that season, one time being in the playoffs. Be on the lookout for the Dragons to keep their streak going Friday, September 24th at 7 pm in Fredericktown.
Good luck Dragons!
