Hawks Impress at Fleet Feet Classic

The Hillsboro Hawks Cross Country team puts up solid numbers at the Fleet Feet Classic. Their next challenge comes Thursday, September 9th in the Ladue Invitational.

The Hillsboro Hawks Cross Country squad had a solid showing at the Fleet Feet Classic on Tuesday, August 31st. 

Twenty one other teams brought their runners out to compete and Hillsboro was sure to make their presence known. The girls’ varsity team represented well for the Hawks. Michelle Jones took 13th place overall and finished with a time of 13:03. Anna Crosby was just behind. She grabbed 21st place with a 13:19 finish. 

Hillsboro’s boys really came to play. Josh and Jonah Allison both finished in the top ten overall. Jonah placed seventh with a time of 10:20. Josh claimed the top spot within his own team. He finished in 10:02 which was good enough for third place. As a team, the varsity boys finished fourth out of 21 teams at the meet. 

If the Varsity results weren’t impressive enough, the up-and-coming JV Hawks did their thing as well. Emily Wright finished with a time of 14:32 which put her in the fifth overall spot. Jillian Mayer placed 30th and came in at 15:55. 

The JV boys had a phenomenal showing. Jimmy Mann finished in first for the second meet in a row. He finished with a time of 10:14. Landon Pogue locked up another top-10 spot for the Hawks. He came in sixth at 11:43. JV placed third in a field of 16 teams. 

The Hawks have produced some encouraging numbers up and down the squad. The cross country season is only just beginning and these Hawks are motivated to improve. Their next challenge comes in the Ladue Invitational on Thursday, September 9th.  Hawks Impress at Fleet Feet Classic
