Hillsboro Cross-Country Qualifies for State Meet

The Hillsboro Hawks Boys XC team qualifies for the MO State Meet, while the Girls team will send three individual athletes.

Last Saturday, October 30th, the Hillsboro Hawks hosted the Class 4 and 5 state qualifying races at Bridle Ridge Acres, and despite the recent rain, the course was in great shape.
In the Boys race, Hillsboro edged out Ladue by only five points to take second place with 103 team points. The finish earned the entire team a spot in the State Meet. The Hawks also had three individual medalists, including Josh Allison who finished in third, Jonah Allison crossing the finish in 14th and Gavin Vaughn finishing in 17th place. The Class 4 Boys race is next Saturday, November 5th, at 9:00 a.m.
The Girls team put up 156 points but did not qualify as a whole after finishing in seventh place out of 15 teams. They did however manage to get three athletes qualified for the State meet as well. The medalists and qualifiers were Michelle Jones who finished 17th, Emily Wright who crossed in at 20th and Anna Crosby with a 24th place finish. The Class 4 Girls race is also next Saturday, November 5th, but starts at 9:45 am.
Congratulations to all the Hawks who qualified for State and good luck!
