The Ste. Genevieve Dragons Varsity Football team kicks off the start of the 2021 postseason with a game against the Bayless Bronchos on Friday, October 29th in Ste. Gen.

The Dragons have played some of their best football of the year coming into this game and earned the number two seed in the District Playoffs by going 3-1 in their conference. They’ve won their last three games and scored over 50 points in all of them. Most recently, they beat Brentwood 55-14 last week.

Aiden Boyer had arguably his best game of the season, as he completed seven of eight passes for 225 yards and a whopping six touchdowns. Austin McBride ruled the ground game with 12 carries for 170 yards and a touchdown, while Zach Boyer led through the air, racking up four catches for 173 yards and four touchdowns. The offense is certainly clicking at the right time.

Bayles, on the other hand, has had a rough go of it this season. They are coming off of their closest loss of the season last week when they fell to Kelly 13-6, but the Bronchos have yet to pick up a win in 2021 and come into this week a dreadful 0-9.

The Dragons haven’t matched up against Bayless much in the past. However, that is not going to take away from the gravity of this game for Ste. Gen. They have a chance to come out and make a statement in their first playoff action of the year. The Dragons are going to come out firing on Friday, October 29th in Ste. Genevieve at 7 pm.

Good luck Dragons!
