Friday Night Preview Week 4: Park Hills Central Rebels

The Park Hills Central Rebels Varsity Football team prepares for action against the Cuba Wildcats on Friday night, and looks to move to 3-1 on the season.

The Park Hills Central Rebels Varsity Football team plays host to Cuba for a non-conference game this Friday, September 17th, at 7:00 p.m. The Rebels enter the game with a 2-1 record, coming off an absolutely stunning performance last Friday night, beating the Perryville Pirates 76-0. The Cuba Wildcats are currently a lackluster 0-3, and last week were beaten by Owensville 53-8. The Rebels have been able to score at will this season, putting up 168 points so far, while only allowing 59. All 59 opposing points came from MICDS in a game that saw the Rebels lose 59-52 on a last second score. On the other side, it has not been pretty for the Wildcats. Offensively, they have only scored 14 points, while the defense has given up 148.The Rebels have a multidimensional super-charged offense both in the air and on the ground. Last week, the team threw 18 passes, completing 16 for 304 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Jett Bridges was 12-14 with one touchdown. Casen Murphy was also three for thee with one touchdown.They have a wide array of receivers from which to choose as well. Slade Schweiss led all receivers with five catches for 84 yards. Jobe Bryant had four catches for 97 yards and one touchdown. Grant Manion made three catches for 69 yards and one touchdown.Central also has an incredible rushing game. Last week, the Rebels ran the ball 20 times for 288 yards. Dayshawn Welch did the majority of the work, with eight carries for 133 yards and four touchdowns. Bridges also had five carries for 43 yards and one touchdown.

Last season when these two teams faced-off, the Rebels got the better of the exchange, winning definitively 45-12. Given the results from both squads so far this year, this meeting could prove to be a repeat performance, with a heavy fireworks display from Central.
