Valle Catholic Continues to Roll, Win Streak up to 6

The Valle Catholic Warriors move to 17-2 on the season with three truly dominant wins before the weekend’s wood bat tourney.

The Valle Catholic Warriors reached another level of dominance this week, rattling off wins on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday in spectacular fashion. They took down the Kelly Hawks 11-5 before shellacking Arcadia Valley 23-0 and then stomping Bismarck 16-1.

The Warriors have now won six games in a row and are sitting comfortably at 17-2 this season.

The game against Kelly on Monday started off with a bang, as Valle plated three runs in the first thanks to RBI singles from Clayton Drury and Grant Fallert. They added two more in the second inning and took a 5-0 lead they would not relinquish.

Drury got the start in this one and earned the victory with four solid innings of one-hit ball. He didn’t allow an earned run and had a 4/0 K/BB ratio. He let his bat do some of the talking as well.

Kelly started to creep back in, making it 6-2 in the fifth before racking up three in the sixth to get within a run, but the Warriors responded with five of their own in the bottom of the sixth. Drury had another RBI single and Cannon Wolk drove in a pair with a sharp grounder to right to plate two as the big highlights of the inning. Valle held on to win 11-5.

Drury was the star with his pitching performance while also going 3-for-4 with three RBI at the plate. Isaac Viox had three hist as well, along with an RBI, a double and three runs scored. Alex Viox was the only other player with multiple hits in a 2-for-4 effort.

The next game against the Arcadia Valley Tigers was bananas. Chase Fallert blasted a two run homer in the first that got things going and the Warriors showed no mercy after that. They plated 16 runs in the first inning alone and the game lasted just three innings because of the extreme advantage.

Valle put up four more in second and an additional three in the third before this one was shut down. C. Fallert got the win with just one perfect inning to start the game and Rylan Fallert pitched the other two. He was perfect as well and had six Ks. Chase went 2-for-2 with 5 RBI at the dish and Rylan had two RBI while walking in all four plate appearances.

I. Viox was 2-for-2 with a pair of RBI, Isaac Basler drove in three and stole a pair of bases and Carter Viox had three RBI asa well. Last but certainly not least, G. Fallert had a double and four RBI with four runs scored in his two at-bats.

Thursday’s game against the Bismarck Indians wasn’t quite as show-stopping, but Valle still poured it on in this one as well. Another three-inning affair saw Wolk get the win, going two frames while allowing just two hits and an unearned run.

The Warriors grinded out six runs in the first, another six in the second and then four more in the third to trigger the mercy rule and end the game at 16-1 after three.

C. Fallert had another big day at the plate with a 2-for-4 showing that featured a triple and two RBI. Jackson Fowler had a nice game as well with a double, three RBI and three runs scored, while R. Fallert went 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

This is the kind of damage that Valle can do at any point, and don’t think their competition hasn’t noticed. They appear to be playing their best baseball right now, and still have a busy weekend ahead of the with the Lebanon Wood Bat Tournament kicking off Friday.
