The Ste. Genevieve Dragons junior varsity boys basketball team came away with the 40-23 win over the Valle Catholic Warriors.
It was a dominant first half by the Dragons as they led 22-14 at the break. Collin Fritsch was rolling right along offensively with 10 points, while Nick Plati was right behind him with six.
Neither team found its stroke in the third with the Warriors outscoring the Dragons 6-4, however, St. Genevieve still were on top, 26-20.
In the fourth, the Dragons picked up its play on both ends of the floor scoring 14 points, while holding the Warriors to just three points en route to the 17-point win.
Fritsch and Plati each led the Dragons with a game-high 14 points. Plati was a threat from downtown connecting on four 3-pointers.
The Warriors, meanwhile, were paced by Carson Tucker’s team-high 10 points. August Palmer added four.
The team returns to action on January 5th when they’ll visit West County. Tip-off at 6 p.m.
