We at Ameritime Sports are proud of the team-first atmosphere surrounding the many programs that we cover. It’s a respectful and humble culture that leads to success on a variety of spectrums, but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to shy away from championing an individual who had a truly impressive performance within the week.
We’ve teamed up with the good people at Pettus Automotive to bring you a feature that will highlight one student athlete’s outstanding individual performance every week. Whether on the gridiron, golf course, diamond or hardwood, there is always someone doing something special. And we thought you’d all like to know about it.
This week the honor goes to Abree Zipprich, the talented hurler for the Warriors Varsity Softball team. In a critical game against Advance, she pitched a complete game to earn the victory and fanned a remarkable 12 batters in her seven innings of work. Valle won the game 6-3 and earned their second straight District Championship.
Zipprich is only a Sophomore, but is already making huge strides as a Warrior. She earned All-State honors as a Freshman last year and has continued to elevate her game in 2023. This season she has tossed 94.2 innings and has struck out an insane 184 batters.
That means 65% of the outs she has recorded this season have come via the strikeout. She also owns a minuscule 0.887 ERA on the year and is a big reason for Valle’s success. The Warriors will look to lean heavily on her in hopes of a deep playoff run. Impressive stuff for a Sophomore.
Thanks to Pettus Automotive for making this possible, and congratulations to Abree Zipprich on one heck of a week.
Abree will receive a $25 gift card to The Dew Drop for her impressive accomplishments.
See you all next week.
