Pettus Automotive Player of the Week: Arhmad Branch (Festus Tigers)

Arhmad Branch earns this week’s Pettus Automotive Player of the Week honor with a record-setting performance in track and field.

We at Ameritime Sports are proud of the team-first atmosphere surrounding the many programs that we cover. It’s a respectful and humble culture that leads to success on a variety of spectrums, but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to shy away from championing an individual who had a truly impressive performance within the week.

We’ve teamed up with the good people at Pettus Automotive to bring you a feature that will highlight one student athlete’s outstanding individual performance every week. Whether on the gridiron, golf course, field, diamond or hardwood, there is always someone doing something special. And we thought you’d all like to know about it.

This week the honor goes to Arhmad Branch, the stone-cold basketball and football star, but this time his noteworthy achievement comes from his track and field efforts.

On Saturday in a meet at Mineral Area, Branch broke the Festus School record for the long jump with a leap of 22-7.25. The previous record was held by Jaylan Watson, who set a mark of 22-4.25 in 2018 at the State Track meet.

Branch followed up that jump with an even more impressive one that went a foot farther, but he barely scratched and it didn’t count. Don’t sleep on this young man though. He’ll likely break his own record at some point this season, along with a few others on this talented Festus track and field team.

Oh, and he’s already part of the 4 x 1 relay squad that broke the school record last month.

Thanks to Pettus Automotive for making this possible, and congratulations to Arhmad Branch on one heck of a week.

Arhmad will receive a $25 gift card to Taytro’s Bar and Bistro for his impressive accomplishments.

See you all next week. Pettus Automotive Player of the Week: Arhmad Branch (Festus Tigers)
