Peanut butter and jelly. Lennon and McCartney. Sports and hotdogs.
Some things just pair perfectly together, and that’s how we at Ameritime Sports feel about partnering up with Pettus Automotive.
Starting this Spring season, we are proud to announce that together we will be featuring the Pettus Automotive Player of the Week. A running theme for the foreseeable future that will feature one special High School player each calendar week for their achievements on and off the field.
Players will be highlighted on the website and on our streaming platform, and we can’t thank the good people at Pettus Automotive enough for helping to make this happen.
A little background? Why of course.
Ameritime Sports has been bringing you local High School coverage and championing student athletes for years now, but since 2012, Pettus has been supporting communities and providing top-end service and high-quality vehicles to anyone and everyone fortunate to walk through their showroom doors.
Pettus Automotive’s ties to the area began in DeSoto when Joe Pettus, a graduate of North County High School in Bonne Terre, MO, purchased a dealership and created Auto Plaza Ford. Passionate to work within and give back to the community, Joe immediately started sponsoring local sports programs once the dealership was up and running.
Donating to such programs as the DeSoto Dragons, Hillsboro Hawks and Grandview Eagles, Pettus saw the potential to do more as his business was expanding. He opened a second dealership in Fredericktown and poured support into that community as well.
Next came Farmington, then Ste. Genevieve and the list continued to grow. Pettus then put his name on the company, but kept his heart in the community.
With six dealerships, Pettus now proudly has sponsorships in DeSoto, Hillsboro, Grandview, Farmington, North County, West County, Central RIII, Valley of Ste. Genevieve, Ste. Genevieve, Herculaneum and Festus.
That is a broad stretch of highway to support, but it’s also the driving force behind Pettus Automotive. In 2022 alone, the company donated over $30,000 to local High School sports, so the proof is pretty much in the pudding.
Wanting to continue to do more good, Pettus Sales Manager Brad Coleman spoke to the partnership with Ameritime Sports and said, “Our employees’ families live in our communities, our kids go to these schools and we are so excited to partner with Ameritime Sports to present the Pettus Automotive Player of week. We feel like this is a natural fit and progression for our home-town values, and our responsibility to be in the community.”
We think so too, Brad.
That’s why we’re thrilled to be part of a team with such a giving and reputable company, and looking forward to the inaugural Pettus Automotive Player of the Week.
