The Ste. Genevieve Dragons Varsity Football team takes on the Park Hills Central Rebels this Friday, October 1st in Ste. Gen.

The Dragons are coming off of a 55-33 win over Fredericktown. That was the second consecutive win for Ste. Gen and put them at 3-2 on the season. Austin McBride was a big problem for the Fredericktown defense in this one. He had five carries for 163 yards and three touchdowns. On the receiving end, Zach Boyer caught two passes for 109 yards and two touchdowns. But let’s not forget about the QB and defense for the Dragons. Aiden Boyer passed for 123 yards and two touchdowns, while Klayton Squires and Kaden Flye each had interceptions returned for touchdowns in the game.

As for Park Hills, they are coming off of a blowout 64-7 victory over Potosi. They are currently on a three-game winning streak where they have scored over 60 points in every game. Over the course of those three games, the defense stepped up as well, allowing only seven total points. The Rebels have established themselves as a Class Three powerhouse and sit at 4-1 on the season.

Park Hills has dictated this matchup in recent years, going 11-2 against the Dragons since 2010 and have won their last three matchups. Ste. Gen’s last victory over the Rebels came in 2018 and they are going to have their work cut out for them if they’d like to flip the script on this rivalry. Be on the lookout for when the Rebels come to Ste. Gen on Friday, Oct. 1st at 7 pm. Friday Night Preview Week 6: Ste. Genevieve Dragons
