The Hillsboro Hawks Varsity Football team takes on the Windsor Owls this Friday, October 1st at 7 pm.
The Hawks are coming off of a dramatic 34-29 win over the Festus Tigers last week that came down to the final possession of the game. Hillsboro forced and recovered a fumble on Festus’ final drive that eventually sealed up their victory. Jaxin Patterson was a man possessed, as he carried the ball 26 times for 269 yards and four touchdowns. Austin Romaine had 107 rushing yards and led his team in tackles with seven. This was revenge for last season when Festus won this same matchup for the first time in seven years. Hillsboro now sits at 4-1.
Windsor is coming into this game 3-2 and off of two consecutive wins. They beat DeSoto 24-16 last week and Northeast 18-6 the week before. They also ran up against Festus earlier this season and were run over by the Tigers 62-14.
Hillsboro has had a stranglehold on this matchup over the last few years. The Hawks have beaten the Owls 11 times in a row dating back to 2010. Last season, it was a shootout but the Hawks still grabbed the 64-42 victory.
Hillsboro is coming into this week with their sights set on a fourth consecutive victory. Be on the lookout for the Hawks to battle it out with the Owls on Friday, October 1st at7 pm in Hillsboro.
