Hillsboro XC Impresses at Bowles Invitational

The Hillsboro Hawks Cross Country team sees a few of their athletes cross the finish line near the top at the Bowles Invitational. Next, the Hawks have the State Preview meet on Saturday, September 25th at Gans Creek Recreational Area in Columbia, Missouri.

The Hillsboro Hawks Cross Country team was back in action over the weekend at the Bowles Invitational. 

The meet took place at Larry Crites Memorial Park and the Hawks had some medalists to show off. For the Varsity boys, Josh and Jonah Allison finished among the top competitors. Josh finished fifth with a time of 16:21. Jonah finished seventh with a time of 16:59. The Varsity boys finished fourth as a whole out of eight teams. The Varsity girls finished seventh out of nine teams with their top finisher being Michelle Jones. She placed 12th with a time of 21:43. 

The Junior Varsity squads made some noise as well. For the boys, Jimmy Mann crossed the finish line before any other JV runner with a time of 17:06. They finished fourth out of nine teams. 

There were a few runners that established their personal best times in this meet as well. Landon Pogue finished with a time of 18:31, Gregory Mann at 19:21, Emily Wright at 22:40, Jillian Mayer with a time of 24:48, David Luster at 21:28 and Same Peirce at 21:17. 

The Hawks have to focus up as the end of the season creeps closer. Next, they travel to Gans Creek to compete in the State Preview meet on Saturday, September 25th. You can bet Hillsboro will bring their best. The preparation is coming close to paying off.  Hillsboro XC Impresses at Bowles Invitational
