The Hillsboro Hawks Varsity Football team travels to North County this week to take on the Raiders on Friday, September 17th.

The Hawks bounced back from their week two loss to Jackson in a big way. They took care of business last week and flew past the Cape Central Tigers 41-0 for their second win of the season. Jaxin Patterson proved to be Cape’s biggest issue. He ran for 144 yards and four touchdowns on just seven carries. Austin Romaine had six carries for 38 yards and a touchdown. He also had 38 receiving yards. Tyler Watson scored a rushing touchdown as well.

The Raiders haven’t experienced many bumps in the road this season. They are 3-0 and are outsourcing their opponents 131-25. Last week, they crushed the De Soto Dragons 43-0. Nolan Reed had 91 yards rushing and three touchdowns in the game. He has 283 yards rushing this season and isn’t even his team’s leading rusher. Jobe Smith currently holds that crown with 486 yards and five touchdowns. This team loves to run the ball.

The last time the Hawks met up with North County the Raiders got the best of them. They lost 36-28 in the State Tournament. However, the Hawks did win their last regular-season meeting 36-14. This has been a back and forth battle over the years but Hillsboro has had the upper hand as of late. They are 9-5 against North County dating back to 2010.

Hillsboro is heading into this game seeking revenge. North County ended their season last year and you can bet the Hawks would like to even the score. Look out on Friday, September 17th at North County for this Class Four District One battle to start at 7 pm.

Good luck Hawks! Friday Night Preview Week 4: Hillsboro Hawks
