South Iron runners of all ages shine in XC meet at Ellington

The South Iron Cross Country team competed in the Ellington Invitational Wednesday, September 30th. From varsity boys and girls all the way down to middle schoolers, the Panthers were ready to compete in their fourth meet of the year.

Coach Slade Nichols knew this particular meet would be no easy task, commenting that “the course is very challenging with very steep hills but we still had a successful meet”. Nichols was also particularly impressed with his girls’ placement in the races saying, “Jennifer Koenig placed 10th in the varsity girls. We also had two junior high girls place with Emma Niehaus taking 5th and Tamiya Burse placing 13th”.
