We at Ameritime Sports are proud of the team-first atmosphere surrounding the many programs that we cover. It’s a respectful and humble culture that leads to success on a variety of spectrums, but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to shy away from championing an individual who had a truly impressive performance within the week.
We’ve teamed up with the good people at Pettus Automotive to bring you a feature that will highlight one student athlete’s outstanding individual performance every week. Whether on the gridiron, golf course, diamond or hardwood, there is always someone doing something special. And we thought you’d all like to know about it.
This week the honor goes to Jaxon Jones, the catcher and heavy-hitting slugger for the Central Rebels out of Park Hills. Jones crushed a two-run, game-winning homer in the Championship Final of the MAAA Tournament to help earn the Rebels some valuable hardware.
In the game he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI and two walks to ago along with his critical two-run homer. Deuces were certainly wild for Jones in the Rebels’ most meaningful win of the season to date.
On the season the hard-hitting catcher is currently sporting a .359 average and a 1.003 OPS, the second best mark on the team. He also leads the team in hits and at bats and also recently received Academic All-State honors. That’s a dual threat right there.
Thanks to Pettus Automotive for making this possible, and congratulations to Jaxon Jones on one heck of a week.
Jaxon will receive a $25 gift card to The Sand Trap for his impressive accomplishments.
See you all next week.
