We at Ameritime Sports are proud of the team-first atmosphere surrounding the many programs that we cover. It’s a respectful and humble culture that leads to success on a variety of spectrums, but that doesn’t mean that we’re going to shy away from championing an individual who had a truly impressive performance within the week.
We’ve teamed up with the good people at Pettus Automotive to bring you a feature that will highlight one student athlete’s outstanding individual performance every week. Whether on the gridiron, golf course, diamond or hardwood, there is always someone doing something special. And we thought you’d all like to know about it.
This week the honor goes to Casen Murphy, the ace of the staff and slick centerfielder for the Park Hills Central Rebels.
Last Thursday, in the Rebels’ third game of the season, Murphy got the start and went four shutout innings to earn the victory. He fanned 11 of the 13 batters he faced, didn’t walk a man and allowed just one hit. No batter reached second base against him.
He also paced the offense with a 3-for-4 performance at the dish with a pair of RBI, and drove in the game-winning run. There’s a little Shohei Ohtani for you.
His Rebels won the game 7-0 against Arcadia Valley and kept their perfect start to the season intact.
