Hillsboro XC Has Top Finishers at Frank Schultz Invitational

The Hillsboro Hawks Cross Country Team had some runners impressively cross the finish line as top placers in the Frank Schultz Invitational Tournament.

The Hillsboro Hawks Varsity Cross Country Team fought off a bit of rain and put together a good showing at the second annual Frank Schultz Invitational. 

Both the girls and boys had some of their runners place well in their respective races. For the boys, Josh Allison stole the show with a time of 16:29 and finished in first place. He defended his course record and topped it with an even better time. Jonah Allison wasn’t far behind. He finished fourth with a time of 17:14, while Gavin Vaughn placed 10th for the Varsity boys with a time of 17:54. The boys finished second overall out of 14 teams. 

For the girls, it was Michelle Jones finishing at the front of the Hawks pack at 21:05, which was good for seventh place overall. Anna Crosby placed 13th with a time of 21:51. 

The Junior Varsity runners had a good meet as well. Jimmy Mann finished first overall out of the JV boys with a time of 17:56. Greg Mann finished fourth and Clayton Schneider finished sixth. Just like the Varsity boys, they finished second out of 11 teams. For the JV girls, it was Emily Wright who finished fourth overall with a time of 22:57. Riley Kruse finished just behind her at fifth overall with a time of 23:09, and the JV girls finished second out of nine teams as well. 

The Hawks are steadily improving as the cross country season approaches its end. Next, the Hawks travel to Potosi for the Postosi Invitational on Saturday, October 9th.  Hillsboro XC Has Top Finishers at Frank Schultz Invitational
