The Ste. Genevieve Dragons Varsity Football team is looking to grab their second win of the season this week when they travel to Potosi to take on the Trojans on Friday, September 17th.
Ste. Gen lost a heartbreaker to the Kennett Indians last week 40-38. It was a back and forth effort throughout the game but the Dragons came up just short in the end. The loss put them at 1-2 on the season. Aiden Boyer passed for 313 yards and five touchdowns. Zach Boyer and Kaden Flye each had over 120 yards receiving and two touchdowns. Austin McBride ran for 55 yards and a touchdown as well.
Potosi is coming into this week fresh off of their first win of the season. They blasted Fredericktown 62-20. They lost to both Owensville and Farmington prior to the Fredericktown win.
Ste. Genevieve has dominated this matchup over the years. They are 12-2 against the Trojans dating back to 2010 and have won their last eight meetings in a row. Potosi’s last victory over the Dragons came in 2014. Last season, the Dragons cruised past the Trojans 42-7.
Ste. Gen. wants to keep the tradition of beating up on the Potosi Trojans going into this season. This is a very motivated, tight-knit group that feels like they can accomplish a lot this year. The Dragons will be ready to take down the Trojans come Friday, September 17th at 7 pm in Potosi.
Good luck Dragons!
