Hillsboro Girls Track Finishes 5th in McCullough-Douglas Invitational

The Hillsboro Lady Hawks Track team finishes 5th out of 13 teams in the McCullough-Douglas Invitational, and looks to build on the high points to promote future success.

The Hillsboro Girls Track team took on 12 other schools on Friday March 26th and Saturday March 27th at the McCullough-Douglas Invitational at Festus High School. At the end of the event, they beat out eight other teams to take 5th place.

The Hawks were led by Maya Wright who placed 2nd in 100 hurdles, 300 hurdles and high jump.  Freshman Krista Miller took 2nd in long jump and 3rd in triple jump.

The 4×4 team of Reese Buettner, Kayla Vanhorn, Wright and Lauren Nichols came through with a great run and placed 4th. Also placing 4th were Nichols in the 800 and Hailey Genge in the shot put.

Head Coach Dina Holland said, “I was very proud of all of the girls.  We have had an excellent start to the season and I am excited to see us continuing to improve as the season progresses!”

Hillsboro Varsity Track will take on Perryville Tuesday April 5th for their next challenge. Hillsboro Girls Track Finishes 5th in McCullough-Douglas Invitational
