On September 17, the Hillsboro Hawks traveled to opposing territory to battle the Seckman Jaguars. Hillsboro came up short after two close sets of back-and-forth action. With this loss, the Hawks dropped their record to 15-7.
Set one was closely contested, but Seckman got the win by a narrow three-point margin, 25-22. The all-around top performer of the match was Mackenzie Baker who had three kills, one solo block, six aces (all in the second set), nine serves received and 13 digs.
In set two the Hawks played well, but recorded a 25-20 loss. Bella Lewis’ star shined bright as she notched four kills and six assists, but Evie Rowland led the assist category with eight. Defensively, Sophia Marchetti tied Baker with 13 digs. Wright added 1 solo block and one block assist with Marchetti.
