Friday Night Preview Week 4: Ste. Genevieve Dragons

The Ste. Genevieve Dragons look to make it four in a row on Friday as they take on the Blackcats of Fredericktown.

The Ste. Genevieve Dragons come into Week 4 undefeated at 3-0 with wins over Festus (50-35), Affton (83-36) and Orchard Farm (42-17), and are averaging 58 PPG on offense. Will that trend continue with a Week 4 meeting at home against Fredericktown? If we had an Ameritime Sports magic 8 Ball we would be seeing “all signs point to yes”.

The Blackcats (1-2) have a win over Jefferson R-7 in Week 1 (6-3), but have lost two games in a row against Herculaneum (22-14) and Valle Catholic (59-0) and are trending in the opposite direction.

The Dragons and Head Coach Jay Pope will continue to depend on quarterback Aiden Boyer‘s dual-threat option to lead Ste. Genevieve to another win, possibly opening some eyes as far as getting some state-ranking recognition if the Dragons can produce another high-scoring, high-flying win.

The Ste. Genevieve defense will look to slow down Fredericktown quarterback Nolan Holland who is quite capable of lifting the Blackcats to an upset victory. He’s been the bright spot in an otherwise limited offense thus far this season.

Fredericktown lost to the Dragons 55-33 at home last season, so payback has to be in the back of Blackcats Head Coach Jacob Whitener‘s mind. Stopping the high-flying trio of Boyer, Kaden Flye and Ayden Butcher might just make that happen.

We’ll see how it all shakes on out Friday night at 7 pm in Ste. Genevieve.

Good luck Dragons! Friday Night Preview Week 4: Ste. Genevieve Dragons
